A 19-year-old from Hamilton was arrested for shooting someone with a toy water gun at Rider University, according to Lawrence Township police.

Police say a man called around 10 a.m. saying he was shot with an unknown object while walking on campus. The man said he was struck by a projectile on his right temple causing minor pain and discomfort, according to police.

After an investigation, police say Alan Morales-Garcia was found in his car with a plastic camouflage toy gun that fires water filled projectiles. They say a BB gun and an extendable baton were also found. Morales-Garcia faces assault and weapon related charges.

Police say a similar incident occurred in the Quaker Bridge Mall parking lot Friday near the upper-level Macys. The incident is still under investigation.

Anyone with information regarding the incident at Rider University or at Quaker Bridge Mall is asked to call Detective James Steimle at 609-844-7135 or email jsteimle@lawrencetwp.com.
