Rehearsals are underway for the 15th edition of the annual Garden of Dreams Talent Show.
The talent show, presented by Madison Square Garden Entertainment and the Garden of Dreams Foundation, will take place on Wednesday, April 19 at 7 p.m. at Radio City Music Hall.
It will showcase over 150 young people from the tristate area who face major obstacles and who all had to audition to be a part of the show.
“I was one of the last people there so I had to wait for a really long time. But then they called me back immediately and I thought it was for an interview or something, and then they gave me a golden ticket and I was like, ‘What is this for?’ They were like, ‘You're in!’ I’m like, ‘Stop fooling with me!” said Isis Troxler, a singer. “I started crying!”
The rehearsals also included celebrity judges like the members of The Rockettes and comedian Tracy Morgan.
Performers explained to News 12 what this opportunity means to them.
“I'm just so excited to perform on stage – such a big stage. I'm also representing a big community too –  being disabled and Latina – so I’m really, really excited,” said Izzy Rita, a singer/rapper.
The event is open to the public and tickets are free, but must be reserved in advance online.
