Federal authorities charged 14 current and former public officials from Paterson and Passaic on corruption charges Monday.
The U.S. Attorney's Office charged the suspects with soliciting and accepting bribes from a person they believed was a property manager but who was actually an informant for federal agents. The suspects are mostly associated with the Paterson Housing Authority.
About half the suspects were arrested Monday morning. The remaining suspects were scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
