Members of the 113 Infantry were given a proper send-off from the Jersey City Armory before their deployment.
The soldiers will be stationed within the Horn of Africa, and will work to fight terrorism and piracy.
All will be leaving behind loved ones, with even some missing out on the birth of a first child, while others are preparing mentally for their first tour of duty.
"There’s a lot of counter piracy and counter terrorism missions we will be able to assist with,” says Nick Corti, with Delta Company. “That's critical to regional stability because what happens over there affects us back here."
The soldiers will train for a month in Texas before flying overseas.
They will return home to New Jersey in December.
