A man was killed when his house caught fire early Sunday morning in the West Belmar section of Wall Township.
The fire broke out at around 1 a.m. on Vine Street.
Neighbors say they were alerted to the fire by the victim's barking dog.
Officials are now trying to contact the victim's family members. His identity has not yet been released.
Neighbors say the victim was an accomplished builder.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
Investigators say the man's dog survived the fire.
