Thousands remain without power across New Jersey; repairs underway
Thousands of residents across New Jersey remain without power following powerful thunderstorms Tuesday night, and for some, repairs could take a while.
More than 90,000 people were left without power at the height of Tuesday’s storms. About 9,000 were still without power as of Wednesday at 9:30 p.m.
The storms contained large amounts of rain, strong winds and large hailstones. Winds were up to 60 mph in some areas. There was also lots of thunder and lightning.
Trees were uprooted all over the state, along with utility poles.
The storm also impacted transportation around the state. Heavy rains caused some localized flooding on the roadways
