Police say a 26-year-old man is dead following a hit-and-run in Bath Beach Sunday morning.

Authorities confirm they responded to a call of a man in cardiac arrest after the incident on 19th Avenue between 86th Street and Benson Avenue.

The man was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The car that hit him and fled the scene is described only as a black sedan. No arrests have been made so far, and there is no other information on the suspect.

Neighbors who woke up to the news said they the intersection is very busy with traffic.

"This is a very, very busy corner and dangerous because people don't watch when the green light passes and they turn, so that's how they get hit most of the time,” said resident Marlena Vintimiglia.
