Police are looking for a man who groped a 12-year-old girl in Fair Haven while she was with a friend.

Police say the girls were walking along River Road Wednesday when a man approached them and grabbed one of them. Police say the girls fled to a nearby restaurant where the owner contacted police. While Fair Haven is generally known as a quiet community, some residents say they are not shocked by the incident because predators are everywhere.

Police urge children to travel in pairs, tell their parents where they are going and report incidents. Anyone with information about the crime is urged to call police at 732-747-0991.
