What would you do if doctors told you they had done everything they could to try to save your life and that you only had weeks left to live?
One Ridgewood man has been confronted with that reality, but his friends, family and community have stepped up in an incredible way to grant him his dying wish - to live out his final days, with his family, in Hawaii.
Ed Schwartz has been battling leukemia for nearly two years.
A friend of his set up a Go Fund Me site to raise money to grant him his dying wish, to return to Hawaii, where he has vacationed before, with his wife and son.
Hundreds of friends, family, even strangers, raised nearly $40,000 in eight days for him to be able to make the trip with the necessary medical equipment and care.
