An Atlantic County family is hoping to solve a mystery that occurs every year around the holidays.
Michelle Fuls of Galloway says that every year someone leaves a card and cookies on her grandparents’ graves. But she says that she has no idea who is doing it.
Fuls says that visiting the graves at the Atlantic County Veteran’s Cemetery is a regular occurrence.
"It's like my special place. It's never been a sad place to come and go. It's just been, ‘Let's go see Mom-mom and Pop-pop,’” she says.
Fuls says that for the last six years someone else has been visiting the graves around the holidays.
"We come every Christmas and there was a card sitting here and the cookies were on the grave and I posted on Facebook with my cousins and asked, ‘Did anyone leave this?’ and no one answered,” says Fuls. “Then every year another note will come up and then every other year the cookies would show up and this year we had the cookies and the card."
Each year there is a different note on the graves – inside a heartfelt message.
"That they have been going through hard times and that the only reason that they're holding on is because of my grandparents and they write ‘Mr. And Mrs. Fuls’ on the card so we know that this is not just a random act,” says Fuls.
The card left this year was signed “J” – the first time the mystery visitor has left any clue to their identity.
"Everyone in the Fuls family, we don't judge, we don't care. Whatever you wanna tell us you can tell us,” says Fuls. “If you don't wanna tell us, you just wanna tell us it's you, that's it, I won't ask any more questions. We just wanna know who it is."
Fuls says that she knows that it is not a family member. She says that she wants the visitor to come forward so that her family can thank them.
