Lights, Camera, Action! Hollywood takes over the Hudson Valley
It's lights, camera, action as Hollywood takes over the Hudson Valley.
The television and film industry has been booming in the area, most recently with cameras rolling in Yonkers for a new Showtime series. "The Loudest Voice" stars Russell Crowe as Roger Ailes. He's been spotted filming in Stefanik Park. Sarah Jessica Parker and Kevin Bacon have also been spotted filming in the Westchester area.
Yonkers is no stranger to Hollywood glitz and glam. Melissa Goldberg, director of film and photography in Yonkers, says it means big money for the area when production companies set up shop.
Westchester County says the film and television industry boosted the local economy by $30 million in 2016, with Yonkers as one of the biggest contributors. Goldberg says more than 160 days of filming took place in Yonkers over the past year.
