Hurricane Matthew causes closures, delays at major FL airports
Many flights to and from some of Florida's major airports are on hold until Hurricane Matthew passes.
While flights to Fort Lauderdale and Miami have resumed, many flights to Orlando, Jacksonville and Charleston, South Carolina remain canceled.
Airlines are advising travelers to check their carriers before heading to the airport.
Reports say the Orlando airport may reopen by Saturday morning.
Airlines aren't the only form of transportation affected by the storm. Amtrak officials says service in the south is suspended through Saturday, Oct. 8 due to the severe weather in the region from Florida to North Carolina.
The Silver Star and Silver Meteor, which travel from New York City to Miami, as well as the Auto Train, traveling from Virginia to Florida, are canceled.
Officials say no alternative transportation will be provided.
Both Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando, as well as many other popular attractions, in the area are closed today.
