The family of a woman who died in a Hepatitis A outbreak after eating food at a golf club in Morris County has filed a lawsuit against the facility, claiming they were served food contaminated with the virus.
According to family members, Dorothy Del Guercio, 82, of Bergen County, died on Aug. 20 after eating at the Mendham Golf and Tennis Club back on June 22.
The lawsuit says Del Guercio contracted the virus after eating in the dining room of the club.
The virus was transmitted to 27 people by an infected food handler over the summer, likely between June 9 and June 30.
A second lawsuit claims the worker failed to follow 'common sense' of washing his hands after using the bathroom.
