Officials: Person who contracted hepatitis A at New Jersey golf club dies

New Jersey health officials say a person who got sick from a hepatitis A outbreak at the Mendham Golf and Tennis Club has died.
It’s believed the outbreak happened between June 9 and June 30, and is linked to a worker who handled food. The employee was pulled from work after the diagnosis.
In all, 27 people were infected.
Hepatitis A is mainly spread via close person-to-person contact or via contaminated food. Health officials say the club notified its members about the potential risk back on July 5.
Symptoms of hepatitis A may include fatigue, sudden nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, dark urine and intense itching.
Anyone who dined at the club from June 9 through June 30 who is experiencing these symptoms should contact their health care provider.
