Ex-NJ pastor's sermons played up with Palin candidacy
Sermons by GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin?s pastor are in the spotlight Wednesday, the same day she introduced herself to the country at the Republican National Convention.
Palin?s pastor, Ed Kalnins, used to work for the Lambertville Assembly of God Church in the late 1990s. According to the Huffington Post, Kalnins? sermons were controversial. In one, he questioned whether those who supported Sen. John Kerry for president in 2004 would get into heaven, according to the Web site.
However, Lambertville residents were quick to say they?re not interested in any sort of religious controversy surrounding the candidate.
Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama had to distance himself from his pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, because of statements the religious leader made.
