DEP: New Jersey black bear hunt to continue through Saturday

The DEP says that hunters did not reach the 20% limit of the hunting season necessary to cull the bear population.

The statewide black bear hunt has been extended through Saturday, according to the state Department of Environmental Protection.
The DEP says that hunters did not reach the 20% limit of the hunting season necessary to cull the bear population.
This is the second leg of the bear hunt. The first round was held in October.
