One of Brooklyn's oldest companies recently announced plans for something big coming to Greenpoint.

Acme Smoked Fish has closed on a deal to double down on their Greenpoint headquarters with a new manufacturing plant.

The new addition continues a legacy born in Brooklyn in the early 1900s by a Russian immigrant selling fish. Three generations later, it is still a family business.

"Working alongside with my sister and my cousin and my parents and uncle, it's something that the entire family lives and breathes," says Adam Caslow, co-CEO of Acme.

In order to compete with all other companies over the years, Acme has continued innovating. Its new plant will allow them to expand to things like dicing salmon for poke bowls or selling their product at a new commercial space.

By keeping operations in Brooklyn, Acme is able to preserve about 100 jobs.
