6 stabbed, 1 shot at Edison hip-hop party
Police say six people were stabbed, one fatally, and another person was shot at a hip-hop party in Edison early this morning.
Officials say that the incident happened at the Mirage Banquet Hall on Oak Tree Road.
The victim who died has been identified as 21-year-old Jayson Perry.
The co-owner of the banquet hall, Shaun Mehtani, says the incident stemmed from a special appearance by a rapper who was upset at other guests. He says security shut the party down as soon as the scuffle began but the fighting continued in the parking lot.
Police say that so far, no arrests have been made.
