Several house fires break out Thursday in New Jersey; 1 man dead

Arson investigators say they are looking into a deadly fire in Jersey City that happened in a high-rise building on Marin Boulevard.

From Morris to Ocean counties, fire crews battled flames as several house fires broke out Thursday in different parts of the state — and one fire was fatal.
Multiple firefighters received medical treatment on scene of a house fire in Pequannock. Thick, black smoke and flames were soon coming from the roof.
The mayor told News 12 that the family made it out the house safely. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Another house fire erupted in Union City at a home on 41st Street. News 12 has reached out to police to see if anyone was injured and is waiting to hear back.
Arson investigators say they are looking into a deadly fire in Jersey City that happened in a high-rise building on Marin Boulevard.
First responders say they saw smoke coming from a unit on the 12th floor. They found a man inside who was unconscious.
Authorities say Ramon Abello, 61, was taken to Jersey City Medical Center where he died.
Investigators say they do not suspect foul play.
