A New Jersey woman who lost her husband and four daughters in a car crash in Delaware says that she must fight for justice for them.
Mary Rose Trinidad was also injured in the crash. She was recently released from the hospital, but must now recover at the Kessler Rehabilitation Institute in Saddle Brook.
“I’m dying inside over and over again,” Trinidad said. “Now that they are all gone, I have nothing to look forward to but justice for them.”
Trinidad spoke with reporters Friday along with her attorneys who are urging Delaware investigators to file criminal charges against the driver who allegedly caused the crash. Alvin Hubbard III, 44, was driving a work truck and crashed into a large median, plowing into the Trinidads’ vehicle.
“I cannot believe at this point, and we’re almost at a month, that not one charge has been filed,” said attorney Frank Carbonetti.
Carbonetti says that attorneys are waiting on toxicology and other test results on Hubbard.
Trinidad must use a wheelchair for now as she undergoes extensive physical therapy. Funerals for her husband and daughters have not yet been held, because the family wants to wait until Trinidad is able to attend.
News 12 New Jersey reached out to Delaware officials for comment on the investigation, but did not hear back.
