New Jersey State Police have identified the woman killed in a serious bus crash on Interstate 80 Thursday night.
The victim was identified as 21-year-old Brianna Herrera, who was a passenger on the Adirondack Trailways bus that collided with three other vehicles on the highway.
Herrera was a senior at Syracuse University and was on her way home to Ozone Park, Queens to visit family.
Syracuse officials released a statement following her death that stated, "We join our campus community in keeping Brianna, her loved ones and all who knew her in our thoughts and prayers. Our office is in communication with Brianna's roommates, sorority sisters and friends.”

Herrera was a member of the Sigma Delta Tau sorority at Syracuse. Her sorority sisters paid tribute to her on the sorority’s Instagram account.
“The sisters of Sigma Delta Tau will remember her infectious smile and positive light forever,” the post read.
A vigil will be held Friday evening to remember Herrera. The university is also making grief counselors available.
Over 20 other people were injured in the highway crash. State police say that three remained hospitalized as of Friday afternoon – one in critical condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
