Cinco de Mayo celebrations were in full swing on Sunday. However, the wet weather put a damper on some of the day's events.
News 12 New Jersey's Isabel Litterst visited Hoboken to see how people celebrated in the rainy weather. Although everything outside was soaked, people tried to stay festive with themed outfits, raincoats and umbrellas.
Some restaurants and bars held special Cinco de Mayo-themed events. The events were pretty packed but still not the turnout some employees were hoping for based on previous years' events.
"This is a day I was like betting on. I mean, this time last year everyone was out,” said bartender Imani Ramirez.
Madd Hatter Hoboken employees said it was definitely a better turnout than they expected considering the rainy weather.
