The Waldwick Borough Public Safety building has been renamed to honor Officer Christopher Goodell, who was killed last summer.
At a special ceremony held Friday, the 32-year-old police officer was honored.
Officer Goodell was killed when a tractor-trailer crashed into his police cruiser parked along the shoulder of Route 17.
"I know that Christopher would be so honored knowing he will always be a part of this community," says his mother Patricia Goodell. "I am thankful that my son had the opportunity to serve this great country of ours and the beautiful town of Waldwick."
Today would have been Officer Goodell's 33rd birthday.
