Some terrifying moments were caught on camera over the weekend off the coast of Surf City when a banner plane crashed into the water just off the beach.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the Cessna 150 landed in the ocean Saturday around 3:30 p.m. off the 13 Street beach in the Long Beach Island municipality.
Viewer video caught the plane going down in the water, just yards away from the shore.
The Coast Guard and local first responders came to assist, but lifeguards were able to pull the pilot from the water
The man was OK and taken to the hospital.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
