Power companies in New Jersey say they are prepared for today's storm.
JCP&L says crews are ready to respond to any major outages.
The agency says customers can stay informed on repairs through its website.
PSEG also released some helpful tips for the storm and a reminder for future bad weather.
It's important to formulate a plan and have a safe location in mind if an emergency occurs. Also, know how to contact people if your cellphone and landlines go down.
The company also advises people to make an emergency kit that includes plenty of water, three-day supply of food, flashlight and batteries and a first aid kit.
PSEG says to stay away from downed wires and always consider a wire "live." If one falls near you or your car call 911 right away.
