A gun was spotted at a security checkpoint at Newark Liberty International Airport last week, according to the Transportation Security Administration.

TSA officials say a man from Pennsylvania went through Terminal C with a handgun in his backpack. TSA agents found it and confiscated the weapon.

The man was arrested and faces a $15,000 fine.

TSA officials say agents have caught 20 weapons at Newark Liberty this year. Last year only 14 were confiscated.
