Talk about dirty mouths. According to a Bergen County doctor, that cell phone mouthpiece of yours may actually carry more heath risks than toilet seats.
Doctor Philip Tierno, director of microbiology at NYU Medical Center, said certain types of bacteria may be growing on cell phones that can spread more than just the common cold.
?Eighty percent of all infectious diseases [are] transmitted by contact or touch,? Tierno said. ?A cell phone remains in constant use by an individual with their sweaty, oily hands.?
Tierno recommends people don?t share their cell phones with others. He also suggests wiping phones once a week with an anti-bacterial cleaner.
