Testimony focuses on money in ex-gov.'s divorce trial
The second day of testimony in the McGreevey divorce trial continued to dissect the former governor?s finances.
Attorneys for Matos McGreevey grilled her ex-husband on details of the marriage, including how much their honeymoon cost and who paid for it. Matos McGreevey says the former governor is secretive about money and was more interested in his political image than their relationship.
McGreevey and his attorneys maintain he cannot afford the requested alimony. To show his inability to pay, a vocational consultant was brought in. She said employers are unwilling to hire the former governor.
?Most of them had an audible gasp when I mentioned his background,? said Donna Kolsky. ?Mr. McGreevey was radioactive.?
According to Kolsky, McGreevey depends on the help of rich friends finding him consultant work. Matos?s attorney say his master?s degree and law degree shows more earning potential than is being represented.
