A Toms River woman has been reunited with her beloved dog’s ashes after they were taken off her porch.
Jaime Boyarsky says that earlier this month she has to put down her dog of 11 years after he experienced heart failure. She says that his remains were cremated and that she was devastated when they never arrived at her home.
“At that point, I said, ‘You know what? Let me check the cameras.’ So, I went on to my camera system and I saw at 3:48 p.m. there was a delivery. I saw the UPS driver drop the delivery off and I saw another notification on my camera system that at 4:01 p.m. the camera went off again,” Boyarsky says. “I checked it. The six seconds showed a person coming on to my front porch, stealing the bag and running away.”
Boyarsky says that neighbors also caught the alleged thieves on their home surveillance system. The police got involved and after they questioned the unidentified juveniles, a confession led them to the pet’s remains.
“It was terrible. It was hard enough to lose him and not know when I can get him home and now knowing until 9 p.m. last night when the police officer showed up with him. I really thought he was in the sewer, I really did,” Boyarsky says.
Boyarsky says that she won’t be pressing charges.
