Prosecutors say an 11-year-old Asbury Park girl's condition is improving after being hit in the cheek by a stray bullet.
Officials say the girl was shot while cleaning her room at her home this weekend. Police wouldn't say whether the gunman drove by, walked by, or climbed up on the porch and fired into the window. Authorities say Sunday night's shooting was drug-related and that another person inside the Monroe Avenue home was the intended target.
Police are not disclosing the girl's name. She's listed in critical but stable condition at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune.
