New Jersey café reserves seat for Jersey City fallen officer; donation bucket behind bar

Posted: Updated:

A moving tribute made for Detective Joseph Seals, the police officer killed in Tuesday’s deadly shooting in Jersey City, at a café in Dumont.

Police officers left behind drinks and a note at Grant Street Café reading, "This seat is reserved for Detective Joseph Seals. End of Watch: 12-10-19. JCPD."

The café says it will reserve the seat this weekend and keep a donation bucket behind the bar.

The money raised will go to the Seals’ family.

The restaurant is located at 25 Grant Ave.
