Authorities say that several personal effects were found with skeletal remains found in a wooded area of Monmouth County.
A group of construction workers made the discovery Tuesday afternoon off of Ramtown-Greenville Road in Howell Township. Medical officials have confirmed that the remains are human.
Items discovered in the area included a Hybrid brand zip-up hooded sweatshirt, a watch, size 32/32 pants with a black belt and size 8 Nike sneakers. A memorial wrist band for Kyle Guidice, a 16-year-old Brick boy who died in 2008, was also found.
There was a dental bridge in the upper four teeth of the person who died.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office says an autopsy will be performed to determine the person's gender and cause of death.
Anyone with any information about the remains or the identity of the person is asked to call Detective Andrea Tozzi at 800-533-7443 or Howell Township Police Department Detective Corporal Nancy Carroll at 732-938-4111.
Monmouth County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information.
