New Jersey now has a new grocery store chain with the official opening of Stew Leonard’s in Paramus.
“What we're hoping is to bring really fresh foods, wine and spirits to New Jersey,” says president Stew Leonard Jr.
The supermarket chain has multiple stores in both Connecticut and New York. But New Jersey customers say that they are excited for the opportunity to shop at Stew Leonard’s.
“It’s great and it’s a lot of organic and great prices,” says Devin Gabriel of Newark.
The grand opening also included the unveiling of a 30-foot high card and a giant cake for Bruce Springsteen’s upcoming birthday.
Earlier in the week New Jersey native Martha Stewart attended a celebration for the store and a Jersey cow was named for her.
Stew Leonard’s was started by Stew Leonard Jr.’s father about 50 years ago.
