The governor compared the scenes to those seen in Lake Ozark on Memorial Day where several people contracted COVID-19 at a large pool party.
“The scenes that we all saw over the weekend of crowded bars in our state where social distancing was not either enforced nor practiced sadly don’t look entirely different from this one. This is how flare-ups happen. This is how you risk turning your community into a hot spot,” Murphy said.

Murphy said that it is the responsibility of both the bars and patrons to do what is right in protecting against the virus.
The governor on Monday pushed back the reopening date of indoor dining at New Jersey restaurants. Indoor dining was supposed to resume on July 2, but the date has been pushed back indefinitely.
Murphy also announced 461 new cases of the virus, increasing the statewide total to more than 171,000. Forty-seven new deaths were reported. The total is now 13,181.
