Start the debate: "The Daily Meal" has named Rutt's Hut in Clifton the best hot dog in New Jersey.

The restaurant is best known for the Ripper, a hot dog deep-fried until the casing rips.

Rankings were based on overall reputation, dining experience and ingredient quality.

Across the tristate, Katz’s Deli in New York City and Super Duper Weenie in Fairfield, Connecticut, also made the list.
