A football player from South Plainfield High School has tested positive for COVID-19.
The announcement came in a letter from Plainfield School District's nursing supervisor.
The letter alerted parents of Plainfield Cardinal football players of the positive test after the two teams met a week ago.
Plainfield's 40 players must quarantine for two weeks.
Saturday's game against Somerville is canceled.
Next week's game at Scotch Plains-Fanwood has been postponed.
