Snow . . . in May? It could happen Friday night
Parts of New Jersey may actually see some snow late Friday night going into Saturday – even though we are well into spring.
News 12 New Jersey meteorologists say that parts of northwestern New Jersey and possibly areas of higher elevation could see a coating of snow. They say that the snow accumulations won’t be a lot by any means, but snow in May is quite unusual.
Thursday saw slightly cooler-than-average temperatures in the 60s. Normal temperatures around this time of year are in the 70s. Thursday’s overnight hours are expected to see some rain with temperatures dipping into the mid-40s.
Friday will see temperatures in the mid-50s under mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will drop into the 30s overnight with a wintry mix.
Temperatures will remain cold on Saturday with a high of only around 47 degrees under partly sunny skies.
The weather is expected to improve for Mother’s Day with a mix of sun and clouds and a high of around 59 degrees.
