Two sisters defied odds Friday by giving birth to babies on the exact same day in neighboring rooms at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. 

Jennifer Jones and her sister Kristen Deltufo each delivered two babies exactly eight and a half hours apart.

Both baby Ava and baby Anthony are happy and healthy.

Since their due dates were close, the possibility of having the babies on the same day crossed their minds, but they didn’t think it would actually happen. 

"I was concerned when she went to the hospital because she was early,” says Deltufo. “Then, I think I got myself worried and that helped to spearhead the process a little bit."

The mothers say these cousins will forever have a special bond.

“They're going to be forever friends, and even better, they’re family,” says Deltufo. 

Baby Ava and Baby Anthony each have older sisters.
