Severe thunderstorms that blew across the state Friday left thousands of New Jersey residents without power.
In Hoboken, a large tree branch fell on a high voltage power line, knocking out power to nearly 5,000 customers. Officials blamed the strong winds.
PSEG crews came out to repair the damage, and power was restored just before 9 p.m.
In Rutherford, power lines came down near Riverside Avenue, temporarily blocking the road. Residents in the area briefly lost power while PSEG crews made repairs.
The storms also knocked out power to several towns in Monmouth and Ocean counties. Towns like Freehold and Monmouth Beach were without power for several hours.
