Sayreville rolls out water restrictions due to heat, lack of rain
The Borough of Sayreville is rolling out water restrictions due to the recent soaring temperatures and lack of rain.
Residents will only be permitted to water their lawns on specific days according to their house numbers.
Residents with house numbers that end in an odd number should water only on Monday and Wednesday; those with even-numbered houses should water lawns only on Tuesday and Thursday.
Officials say that the washing of cars, boats, driveways and walkways will not be permitted until the restrictions are lifted.
Those who do not heed the the restrictions could face penalties and/or fines, the borough's website says.
The restrictions went into effect Saturday, according to the borough's website.
