Rutgers University is celebrating the newest class of Scarlet Knights online, and will hold a virtual commencement Sunday, May 31 at 2 p.m.

Rutgers University is celebrating the newest class of Scarlet Knights online, and will hold a virtual commencement Sunday, May 31 at 2 p.m.
The Scarlet ceremony will be streamed on the university’s commencement website, Facebook, and YouTube channels, and will include many beloved commencement traditions, as well as some new ones.
President Robert Barchi will preside over and confer degrees during Rutgers University’s 254th Anniversary Commencement celebration.
NBC news anchor Lester Holt will be this year's speaker, and will deliver a message from his home studio. He will also receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree.
The university says graduates, their families and alumni from around the world are all invited. The celebration, which is estimated to run between 60 to 75 minutes, will be available to the public.
