The Garden State's bear hunt could be canceled before its upcoming and controversial revival.
The hunt was canceled last year, but was revived earlier this month after Gov. Phil Murphy allowed a vote to be held by the state's wildlife commission.
Now, the groups Humane Society of the U.S. and the Friends of Animals are challenging the hunt in court.
They argue that a loophole was used to get the hunt approved. The bear hunt is set to begin Monday.
