Some residents in Madison are calling on the borough to fix what they say is a dangerous intersection.
Residents say the intersection of Greenwood Ave. and Brittin St. can feel like a speedway at times. Some say with the playground nearby, they don?t feel safe letting their children play with the cars speeding by. Residents also say at times the intersection is hard to cross.
Madison Police Captain John Trevena says there have been 19 accidents at the intersection in the past five years. He adds that those numbers aren?t any worse than incidents at other intersections.
Police say the state Department of Transportation did a study at the intersection and found a light would not help at the location. The study found that the accidents were mainly caused by drivers not paying attention to the road.
