Report: ‘Real Housewives’ star Teresa Giudice will leave husband if he’s deported
“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice says that she will leave her husband if he is deported back to Italy, according to a report in People Magazine.
The magazine reports that Giudice told her “Real Housewives” castmates at a season 9 reunion taping that she and her husband Joe Giudice would “go our separate ways” if he is deported.
The Giudices pleaded guilty in 2014 to bankruptcy fraud and submitting false loan applications to get $5 million in mortgages and construction loans. Joe Giudice also pleaded guilty to not paying about $200,000 in income taxes.
Teresa Giudice served nearly a year in prison and was freed in December 2015.
Joe Giudice is currently serving a three-year sentence and is set to be released in March.
A judge ruled in October that Joe Giudice would have to be deported back to Italy once he is released. He is an Italian citizen who came to the U.S. as an infant and wasn't aware he wasn't an American citizen.
The Associated Press wire services contributed to this report.
