Rally held to save historic hospital in Morris Plains
A rally and march was held outside Greystone Psychiatric Hospital in Morris Plains Sunday to help keep the historic hospital standing.
State officials have said the 140-year-old building needs to come down as a matter of public safety.
Members of the group "Preserve Greystone" have filed appeals and are hoping private and developer money can save it.
Despite some demolition work already done, they say there is still time to save the structure.
The county will receive 165 acres of the site for open space use once demolition is complete.
