Jersey Shore business owners say they saw a lot less customers than usual this Memorial Day weekend due to the rainy weather.
Keansburg Amusement Park had its gates closed on Saturday. The indoor arcade also had very few patrons during the day.
“The previous weekend, we were doing pretty good, we had people in here playing… this week was nothing,” says Cherie Lemons, the arcade manager.
Jamie Diaze, of Mambo Nandos, still forged ahead with the grand opening of the eatery. She says it hasn’t been a total bust for business so far.
“The rain is definitely affecting the business a little bit, but we were really busy last night, and you see the people are coming today, so it hasn't been that bad,” Diaze says.
A few local residents were seen braving the wind and rain to walk the beach.
