Gas prices have been increasing in the Garden State and across the country for the first time since July, and motorists are not happy.
Many residents have their theories as to why the gas prices are rising. Some believe they have spiked because the election is over. Drivers have suggested the Bush administration conspired to lower gas prices before the election in the hopes of getting Republican votes.
The Oil Price Information Service, a group that studies gas prices, says with the Democrats moving in, there might be more pressure to move out of Iraq, which might impact fuel supplies. The group also suggests retailers are trying to cash in on the high volume of motorists expected for Thanksgiving Day weekend. Analysts say the prices will likely increase more after OPEC?s meeting in four weeks.
