A powerful rainstorm damaged dozens of trees and knocked out power to hundreds of residents in the Lincroft section of Middletown.
Crews from Jersey Central Power & Light were out near Hickory Lane and Ringwood Drive repairing utility poles and power lines.
Neighbors say that they are not surprised by the outages, as the area contains dozens of tall and old trees that often come down when the weather is bad.
One neighbor tells News 12 New Jersey that the amount of damage from the storm was “biblical.”
JCP&L says that the power is expected to be restored by Wednesday evening.
Weather officials will determine if a tornado came through the area or if it was caused by straight-line winds.
