Utility crews were out in full force Wednesday night making repairs and attempting to bring the power back on.
Some of the outages were caused by downed trees. A News 12 crew was out in Englewood Cliffs where a tree came down on power lines near Johnson Avenue and Wunsch Way. PSE&G crews were on the scene there making repairs.
The heavy rain and strong winds also caused flooding around the state, both inland and along the coast.
The rain is expected to last into Thursday morning.
