The Brick City Lions are trying to find funds to help pay for a trip to the Pop Warner Super Bowl and National Cheer and Dance Championships in Disney World.
The three football teams and two cheerleading squads are expected in Orlando as early as Thursday to compete in the national competition.
Seven children can't afford the trip and the president of the Brick City Lions says if the league doesn't have the money, they may end up having to stay home.
For one team, it costs about $26,000 to get to the tournament. The Newark Sports League says they've been in this situation before but not with as many players.
The president of the program says the Brick City Lions are also saving lives by keeping children off the streets and out of gangs.
While the league is pleading for some generous donations, the parents say it's their responsibility and will do whatever they can to try to make sure their children get to Florida for the tournament.
The Pop Warner Super Bowl tournament kicks off this Saturday.
